Club Competitions

Below is a summary of the Competition agenda for 2010. For further details refer to the newsletter or contact Ian MacPhail, Competition Secretary, on 01349 861760.

Federation, Skye & Morar Qualifier, Loch Meig - 20/04/10
Fishing to start at 18:30 and finish at 21:00. Boats allocated on a first come first served basis. 2 anglers to represent the club at the Federation competition, 2 at the Iain Urquhart memorial competition on Skye, and 3 at the Loch Morar, Alex Duncan Challenge.

Meig Open - 24/04/10
Fishing to start at 09:00 and finish at 17:00. Entry £30 per team. 3 in a boat, but only 2 fishing. To end the day there will be a finger buffet at the Conon Bridge Hotel where the trophies will also be presented.

Federation of Highland Angling Clubs, Loch Watten - 22/05/10
Those wishing to represent the club should attend the qualifier.

Alex Duncan Challenge, Loch Morar - 29/05/10
This competition is run by the Kilmally A.C. who fish in and around the Lochaber area. LAAC have again been invited to fish in this competition.

Highland Wild Trout Challenge. Qualifier, Loch Meig - 25/05/10
Fishing to start at 18:30 and finish at 21:00. Boats allocated on a first come first served basis.

Danfoss Shield & Achonachie Cup - 26/06/10
Competition between LAAC and Dingwall A.C., last year won by LAAC. The venue this year is Lochs Cam and Veyatie near Ledmore, Sutherland. Dinner afterwards yet to be decided. Cost approx £25 per head (TBC).

Portree All Nighter Competition, Stoer Lochs, Skye - 18/06/10
We have again been invited to enter a 2 man team.

Highland Wild Trout Challenge 10 & 11/07/10,  Loch Shin. 
The club will likely have 4 entrants, 2 per boat with the same pair fishing both days. Those wishing to take part must go through the qualifying round.

Shin Cup, Loch Shin - 17/07/10

Junior Competition, Loch Fannich - 31/07/10
All senior and junior members to gather at Strathpeffer Square by 08:00. Juniors may bring more than 1 rod but can only fish 1 at a time. Help needed from senior members with 4WD vehicles. Afterwards there will be a buffet at the keeper's house.

SGL Competition, Badenlochs - 25/09/10
Inter club competiton against Dingwall & SGL. Further details will be included in the July newsletter.

Loch Achonachie Members, Loch Meig - 02/10/10
Members only. Boat fishing to start at 09:00 and finish at 17:00, with a finger buffet and presentations afterwards. Entry fee £10 per rod.

Loch Achonachie Winter League
Running from October to March, the venues will be various trout fisheries throughout the region. Full details will appear in the end of season newsletter.
